Flower Parts

∞ sepal = outer section of modified leaves on outside of flower

∞ receptacle = thickened section of stem at base of flower, where flower parts grow

∞ peduncle = stem of flower attaching to main stem

∞ pedicel = stem of single flower in inflorescence


∞ stamen = all male parts

∞ anther = top of the stamen that contains pollen

∞ filament = base of anther


∞ pistil = all female parts

∞ stigma = receives pollen

∞ style = connects stigma and ovary

∞ ovary = bottom section of pistil, seed develops here, ovary turns into fruit
